Lipstick at Weekends’ Scottish Adventure Roadtrip

I’m shortly to embark on 2016’s adventure.

There’s no planes but there is an awesome spotify playlist (thanks Mrs Wife) and a cable car. This year’s summer holiday is a taster of what Scotland has to offer; a 10 day tour of  what the Romans called Caledonia. I’ve only been once before for a long weekend so I’m really looking forward to it.

We’ll be stopping in Edinburgh where we’ll be ghost touting,  Arthur’s seat climbing and visiting the National Museum of Scotland. Next stop is Inverness to see Loch Ness (and the monster which I’m convinced exists) before heading on to Fort William where we’ll be trying Britain’s Best Picnic spot for size. Finally  we’ll move on to Glasgow to explore,  visit the Glasgow Science  Centre and even stop for a tour of a whiskey distillery.

I might even let you have our full itinerary later, if you like?

I’m looking forward to taking a thermos mug, a picnic and a book and treating myself to a few days off grid (not properly off grid, just not-on-instagram-ignoring-twitter-not-replying-to-texts off grid). Don’t miss me too much!

But do get in touch if you have any tips on places we have to stop, eat, grab a drink or whatever- it’d be much appreciated!!

  1. Camera Obscura on the Royal Mile in Edinburgh is a fun way to spend a few hours. Inverness and Loch Ness are beautiful, especially if you are lucky and get good weather. If you have time you could go to Arran for a bike ride, I’ve never done it but I really want to! Enjoy your holiday 🙂
